Located in the Old Sawmill District, Boxcar Bistro remains at the forefront of dining in Missoula, offering a sophisticated selection of food & wine paired with an elevated level of service and atmosphere.

While dining with us at Boxcar Bistro you may notice a nod to traditional French cuisine and decor. This is at the heart of our identity, bringing a touch of worldly culture to the heart of Montana. This remains our culinary team’s true intent, offering you an enticing selection of the best regional cuisine with a French backbone.

Our intimate space is intentional, as is our flare for providing an ever-changing wine list showcasing a predominantly French lineup, complimented by unique wine offerings from across the world: Italy, South America, South Africa, New Zealand, the United States, and so on… Expect the unexpected! Our staff will happily guide you along the journey.

We are constantly sourcing exciting, limited production wines from across the globe housed with world renown importers such as Kermit Lynch, Rosenthal, Dreyfus Ashby, and so on… While you’ll always see a few familiar names on our list, we continue to pioneer featuring labels new to not only Missoula, but Montana itself.

The past few months have seen necessary evolution with our concept. We hope to continue pushing forward, enhancing elements of what we do best while keeping true to our intent. Our wine list is fluid, as is our food menu. Who we are, is not. This allows you to expect great service and atmosphere with updated dining offerings on a regular basis.
