Who We Are

At Boxcar, exceptional food begins long before it reaches your table.

We believe great cooking starts with great ingredients, which is why we prioritize fresh, seasonal, ethically sourced products from Montana farmers, ranchers, beekeepers, bakers, and producers whenever possible. From grass-fed Montana beef, pork and pasture-raised organic eggs to locally grown produce, wildflower honey, artisan breads, microgreens, and flowers, our menu reflects the incredible agricultural community that surrounds us.

Our culinary team combines over 100 years of experience with a commitment to thoughtful sourcing and French-inspired technique. Nearly every ingredient is selected with intention—from house-ground burgers made from our steak trimmings to sustainably sourced seafood and premium specialty products chosen from producers who share our values.

We also believe exceptional dining should be accessible. Most menu items can be prepared gluten-free, including many fried dishes thanks to our dedicated gluten-free fryer. Vegetarian, vegan, and dairy-free accommodations are available throughout the menu without sacrificing quality or flavor.
